Hi everyone, It's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we have the Kuat Piston Pro Three Bike Platform Rack. We'll take a look at how it fits our 2023 Audi SQ5. So with this bike rack, you have a really cool dual-wheel mount system, where you just hit the pistons (pistons clicking) and the mount goes up (mount clicks) and you're ready to load your bike. When you load your bike on there, (mount clicking) just bring it in, and you secure the bike by the front and the rear wheels. If you're familiar with the Kuat Piston Pro X, the main difference between the X and this one is the Kashima Coating as well as the wiring and taillights that the Pro X has and this one has not. But other than that, you have the really cool benefits of having a very easy-to-use bike rack. more

Hollywood Racks Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2023 Audi SQ5- Video
Hi everyone, it's Evangeline right here at etrailer, and today we have the Hollywood Rack Destination four bike platform rack. We'll be taking a look at how it fits our 2023 Audi SQ5. The destination is actually one of my favorite four bike platform racks. One, because it's at a really good entry level price, but even with that, it has a bunch of just solid fundamental features that make it easier to carry around multiple bikes without taking up too much time or too much carrying. This is gonna be a very lightweight rack that's also very compact. So, as cool as that all sounds, the downside to it though is it does not tilt away, it doesn't have an electric bike weight capacity, and you do have to be mindful that it does take a bunch of different steps to fully secure your bike and figuring that out the first time can be a little tricky. more

So the Monorail is a really popular bike rack because of how it has all of those fun premium features and it can carry most different types of bikes, but it's not at an extreme premium price. So we'll take a look at how it fits on our Audi here. The main thing is that this is a two bike platform rack, so if you want to expand you can only expand up to three bikes with this. The first feature we'll take a look at, though, is a tilt away feature. Underneath the rack you have this bright blue lever. more

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline right here at etrailer, and today we have the Hollywood Racks Destination two-bike by platform rack, and we'll take a look at how it fits our 2021 Audi SQ5. So the Destination is really popular because of how lightweight, compact and versatile it is. This is probably gonna be one of the few bike racks that can carry really small children's bikes. Now it is a more affordable rack, so you do miss out on certain premium features like tilting it away and extra-high weight capacity for electric bikes. But if you don't need those, and you prefer something lightweight and compact, this is the way to go. If you needed to get access to your hatch, you would have to take the bike off completely. more

It's going to make for zero frame contact on the bike, making this a good option for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes, so we're not relying on frame contact. more

Kuat Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2019 Audi Q8- Video
Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer. Today, we're taking a look at the Kuat Piston Pro X 2-Bike Rack on our 2019 Audi Q8 This is gonna be a platform-style bike rack, that holds the bike in these trays and primarily by our wheels. This is gonna hold it with two wheel hoops, one on either tire, getting a pretty good strong hold on the bike. It's gonna mean it has zero frame contact too, making it good for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes. With a 67-pound weight capacity per bike, it's gonna be good for some of those heavier E-bikes too, because it does up that standard 60 pounds by just a little bit compared to some other similar bike racks. We do have the ability to tilt the rack away with bikes loaded, using the pedal towards the first tray, and lowering the whole thing down. more

We've got that front tire up in our large cradle being secured at the wheel hook up top and we've got a secondary point of contact in the form of a wheel strap at our back wheel. It's gonna get a pretty solid hold on the bike rack here. That cradle up front really helps keep the front tire still and it's gonna be really secure. more

Hi everyone, Aiden here with etrailer. Today, we're taking a look at the RockyMounts MonoRail 2-Bike Rack on our 2019 Audi SQ5. Now, with this bike rack, it's gonna be a platform style rack, which means we hold the bike in these trays, and this one holds it primarily by our front tire. We also have a wheel strap in the back, but this is what's gonna primarily keep our bike upright and still. It's gonna get a pretty good hold on the bike too, keeps it in that cradle down up front, which kinda binds up that front wheel and keeps it from turning. It doesn't make any frame contact, so it's good for carbon frame and alternative frame bikes, and the 60 pound weight capacity per bike, it's gonna be good for e-bikes too. more

Now the Kuat Sherpa is what I think of as the ideal middle of the road bike rack. It's nice, pricey as say, the Kuat NV but it still has the premium features that you would expect in a correct bike rack. Now, one of its features is that it can tilt away and to do so, you pull on this lever right over here and that allows this bike rack to drop down, to tilt. And you'll want to tilt it away if you want to add access your hatch. more

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer, and today we are looking at the Kuat NV 2.0 two-bike rack here on our 2018 Audi Q5. Now the Audi is a premium car, so I would see the Kuat NV as a great pair, since it is a premium bike rack. It has all of the wonderful features, the weight capacity, even the extra bike repair stand, great things that you would expect from a premium Kuat bike rack. So one of its features is that it can tilt away and to do so, you pull on this lever right over here. That allows it to drop down to a tilt, and you'll want to do this if you wanna access the hatch on your vehicle. So as you can see, with the door opening, there's plenty of space between our hatch and our bike allowing us to get in there, maybe grab our water, grab our bags, grab our helmets, without having to take our bike off, which means you can get onto the trail a lot quicker. more

This bike rack is going to be a two bike style platform rack, and what's really cool about it is, it accommodates a lot of different style bikes. So a problem with platform-style racks is most of them have a hook that attaches to the frame right here to hold it in place. And sometimes that can be an issue when you have alternative style bikes that have really sharp down, or top tube right here also with women's bikes and even kids' bikes. But what this one does, is this allows you to rotate that hook all the way around. more

Thule Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2012 Audi A6 TH44VR- Video
Hey guys, Zack here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Thule Helium 2-Bike Platform Bike Rack on our 2012 Audi A6. Right away one of the coolest things with this bike rack is the way that it holds the bike on. And that's with the two wheel mounts. So most platform racks are either going to have an arm that secures down onto the frame, or just a front wheel mount with a strap that goes around the back tire.So with this style, we don't have any contact with the frame, which is great for a carbon bike like this, but what's cool is it allows some adjustability. So you don't have any issues with your handlebars, maybe coming into contact with your seat or your pedals getting caught up in different parts of the bike. more

Saris Freedom SuperClamp Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Audi Q5- Video
Today on our 2014 Audi Q5 we're going to be test fitting the Saris Freedom Superclamp 2-bike platform-style rack, part number SA4025. We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank of the rack into our receiver hitch. You'll want to watch for the pinholes to line up. That way you can insert the threaded anti-rattle hitch pin bolt. Go ahead and get that as tight as you can by hand and then we'll finish it off with our wrench. Tightening this down helps to take any extra movement out of the shank of the rack, which overall eliminates movement of the bike going down the road. more

Yakima FullTilt Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Audi Q5- Video
Today on our 2014 Audi Q5 we are going to be test fitting the Yakima full tilt 4-bike rack four inch and a quarter and two inch hitches. Part number YO2462. We will begin our test fit by inserting the shank of the rack into the receiver hitch on our vehicle. You will notice here that there is a self-locking pin, so we will go ahead and keep a finger on the anti-rattle device so that it does not bound up as we insert our shank and press this in until it clicks into place. As you can see we are locked into place and it is not going to move out of there. We will then tighten down the anti-rattle knob here. Sometimes it helps to wiggle the rack around a little bit as you tightening it down. And as you can we are nice and secure. With our rack in this position the closest part of the rack to the vehicle is going to likely be the base of the mast here. That is going to measure about three and a quarter inches and the arms are going to measure about five and a quarter inches from the rear of the vehicle. The pin is going to be our lowest point so that is going to be about 8 1/2 inches off the ground. more

Thule Helium Aero Hitch Bike Racks Review - 2014 Audi Q5- Video
Today on our 2014 Audi Q5 we're going to be test fitting the Thule Helium Aero 2 Bike Rack part number TH9042. We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank of the rack into the hitch of our vehicle. This does have a self-locking pin and clip system so you'll want to pull out on the arm here, twist that into place and it'll lock itself into place. You'll then tighten down the anti-rattle device. This helps to take any extra play out of the shank and overall will reduce movement of the bike on the rear of the vehicle. Get that tightened down real good and as you can see we're nice and tight there. We'll go ahead and get a couple of measurements. more

Today on our 2014 Audi Q5, we're going to be test fitting Thule Vertex Four Bike Rack, part number Th9029. We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank of the rack into the hitch on our vehicle. We'll go ahead and line up the hitch pin holes. Once you've done that you can go ahead and insert the anti-rattle hitch pull. It will need to be inserted from the passenger side. Go ahead and get it as tight as you can by hand, and then you can finish it off with your wrench. more

We'll begin our test fit by inserting the shank of our rack into the hitch of our vehicle. Once we have that inserted, we'll go ahead and line up the hitch pin holes. You'll then want to thread in your hitch pin. With this particular rack, you'll have to do that from the passenger side. There we go. We'll go ahead and tighten this down by hand as best we can and then we can finish it off with our wrench. more
